She asked how much are you selling for eggs? ” The old salesman replied: $0.50 – one egg, Ma’am.” She said “I’ll take 6 eggs for $2.50- or I’m gone.” The old salesman replied, “Come and get them at the price you want. Maybe this is a good start because I didn’t sell a single egg today.
She grabbed the eggs and walked away feeling like she won. She got in her fancy car and went to a fancy restaurant with her friend. There she and her friend asked for what they wanted. They ate a little and left much more than they asked for. So she gone pay the bill. The bill was $400.00. She gave $500.00 and asked the restaurant owner to keep the change….
This incident may have looked quite normal to the owner, but very painful to the poor egg seller..
The aim is, Why do we always show that we have power when we buy from the needy? And why are we generous to those who don’t need our generosity?
once I read somewhere:
“My father used to buy simple goods from poor people at high prices, even if he didn’t need them.” Sometimes he paid more for them. I was concerned about this act and asked him why he does it? Then my Father replied: “That’s charity wrapped in dignity, son.” Author @ unknown@
